Description

Application

The M49A1 trip flare is used as an early warning signal device to warn of infiltrating troops by illuminating the area surrounding the trip flare. It can be armed by attaching a trip-wire to either the trigger or pull-pin and is available in either IR or visible light configurations.

Description

This Day/Night Marking signal is intended for use in air and sea rescue and recovery operations when a compact and easy to use signal is required. One end emits orange smoke for day use; the other emits a red flare that is visible day or night. Its small size and weight permits it to be carried in a life vest or flight suit pockets and on life rafts.
