Chemring Ordnance Appoints Jim Batina Vice President of Business Development

Perry, FL – Chemring Ordnance (“COR”), part of the Chemring Group PLC (“Chemring”), announced the appointment of Jim Batina as Vice President, Business Development. In this role, Mr. Batina will lead the worldwide business development efforts for COR and its subsidiary, Chemring Military Products.

 

Mr. Batina joined COR’s business development group in 2012, with a focus on new business proposals. He brought 20 years of experience to that job in the areas of defense business capture, manufacturing and research and development. Prior to joining Chemring, Mr. Batina held positons at Alliant Techsystems and Orbital Sciences Corporation, where he worked on missile and space programs that included Patriot, THAAD, Minotaur, Pegasus, and Taurus. 

 

Mr. Batina holds a BS in Aeronautical Engineering Technology from Arizona State University. During his career, he has developed technical expertise in the areas of ammunition, fuzing, solid rocket motors, warheads, ordnance devices, missile systems and space launch vehicles.  This has been supplemented by business experience in contracting, project planning, market and business case analysis, and risk and cost analysis.
